How do I get hired or matched with job opportunities?

When clients hire through Roster, our platform generates a personalised list of the top 5 candidates we recommend them to hire based on (1) their content style, (2) their search criteria, and (3) how well your profile and past work match this search.

To increase the chances of your profile being recommended, we recommend you do the following:
1) Go through the “Get Verified” steps to ensure your profile is complete and verified
2) Ensure all your latest work is present on your profile as we make recommendations and matches based on your past work and past creators/brands you’ve worked with.

What is Roster’s fee?

Roster’s fee is 20% of the final project cost you see as a client. This fee allows us to help you take care of:

• Unlimited personalized talent recommendations for your hiring needs

• Covering all international cross-border payments to the talent

• Contract support

• Unlimited support from Roster’s team when you have disputes with a talent you hired

Can I message a client off Roster’s platform?

If the client has not placed a deposit yet: No. You must use the communication services available on Roster’s platform to communicate with the client prior to entering into a Service Contract.

If the client has placed a deposit and formally started a project: Yes. After a client has placed a deposit, you can communicate with them off the platform. Some talent and clients choose to use other platforms for file sharing and iterative feedback purposes.

Can I get paid directly from a client outside of the Roster platform?

No, you cannot invoice a client outside of the Roster platform. Receiving payment outside of the Roster platform is a violation of our User Agreement and Terms of Use, and your account may be permanently suspended for such violations.

You must notify Roster immediately if a person suggests making or receiving payments other than through the Roster platform or if you receive unsolicited contact outside of the Roster platform. If you are aware of a breach or potential breach of this non-circumvention agreement, please submit a confidential report to Roster at support@joinroster.co

Is there a way I can request to work directly with a client I found through Roster?

Roster was set up in a way to protect you. We require clients to place a deposit before they start working with you. Roster uses this amount held in escrow to help ensure you get paid for the work you do. Therefore, we do not recommend you to work directly with a client.

That being said, sometimes clients and talent who have met through Roster wish to work together directly outside of Roster (e.g. if a client wants to bring the talent in-hose full-time). We provide the option to do this with a one-time payment of the Conversion Fee paid by the client. We call this process “contract conversion.”

The Roster Conversion Fee is 15% of a freelancer’s estimated annual earnings. The hourly rate we use differs, depending on what type of contract the client and freelancer have been working on. The typical formula is:

Conversion Fee = 15% of a freelancer’s hourly rate x 2,080 hours (52 wks x 40 hrs)

We apply a discount to the Conversion Fee based on the total amount of fees paid to Roster by the client, and we consider the length of the relationship between the specific client and talent who are converting their contract. Please contact supprt@joinroster.co for more information. For more information, please visit Section 7.3 OPTING OUT & CONVERSION FEE in our User Agreement.

Is there a way I can work directly with a freelancer that I found through Roster?

Roster was set up in a way to protect you and the Freelancer. Roster uses escrow to help ensure that you get the work you paid for. As a client, you will have the option to approve and release the payment only once you deem the work completed is acceptable. Therefore, we do not recommend you to work directly with a Freelancer.

That being said, sometimes clients and talent who have met through Roster wish to work together directly outside of Roster (e.g. if a client wants to bring the talent in-hose full-time).
